Job Description : Atkins is Europe’s largest design consultancy with a strong reputation in telecommunications engineering. We currently have an opportunity for a recently graduated GIS technician to join our team in Bangalore, India.

The position provides the opportunity to develop skills within the UK utilities industry, by performing searches for utilities companies (water, electricity, telecoms etc.) on the location of cables and pipes buried in the ground.

This is an opportunity for candidatea to gain valuable experience working in a large multinational company to start or further their career in GIS.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the performing searches using various utilities databases, searching for networks and connections using standard design guidelines and templates.
Working to tight timescales and following an approved methodology will be key features of the role.
This is a technical administrative role using sophisticated GIS software, and would suit freshers looking to commence their carere within a professional engineering consultancy organisation.

Desired : Preferably educated to Diploma or Bachelor level in an engineering/GIS discipline . No previous experience necessary as training will be given but an academic background within electronics/telecoms is an advantage
Must have a valid passport or be in the process of obtaining one.
Fluent written and spoken business English.

Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments to build rapport with customers.
Experience of using written and spoken English within a business environment
Willingness to travel to the UK for periods of training.
