Job Description: Database Developer/DBA General Description: The ideal candidate will be a driven, dynamic and self-motivated Database Architect and Administrator who is responsible for modeling and design of DB for our next generation product suite. This person will also perform DB administration duties for existing and newly developed DB centric application. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in enterprise class, transaction heavy and data-intensive DB applications. The candidate will work very closely with the software architect and other engineers to deliver a world class solution. Specific Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsible for database design, develop and maintain the production SQL Server database environment.
Responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of various SQL Servers stored procedures and ETL processes related to internal needs and external partner integrations.
Responsible for the optimization, stability, scalability, security, and general performance of our Microsoft SQL Server Production environments.

Analyze project information requirements, data relationships, and attributes, resulting in data flows, program structures, hardware needs, and outputs for the web projects.
Responsible for changing data feeds and database schema in support of changes made to code to support changes
Develop archival, backup and recovery strategy. Plan, perform and monitor database backups.
Perform database recoveries when necessarily.

Skills:
5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server database administration (DB) experience with detailed knowledge of complex stored procedures (T-SQL) required. This person must have strong stored procedures and triggers experience.
3-5 years of experience in physical database modeling, design and development
Candidate must have demonstrated ability in developing Data Warehouse cubes and reports.
Extensive knowledge of database management tools, such as:SQL (DDL, DML); stored procedures; triggers; database utilities; SQL views; clustering and replication technologies.
Experience with SQL Server log shipping, Replication, Reporting Services, linked servers, Clustering, DTS packages, basic backup/recovery procedures, and SQL Server database and server configurations required.
Understanding of transaction isolation levels, transaction management, distributed transactions, and SAN storage a plus
Experience with local and wide area networks, interfacing with systems such as Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Servers and UNIX.

Desirable :
Detailed experience in building cubes and using Microsoft Analysis Services for delivery of the cubes also desired but not required
Knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and new features a plus
Windows Server Administration
Network configuration and protocol knowledge (switch port settings, TCP/IP)
