Economics is a branch of social science which deals with social relationships in finance and business. The study of economics is related to the economic conditions of various markets and analysis of problems and issues that arise in government or private organisations. So, economists are preferred by all types of organisations to solve the issues and to build a distinct business relationship with other companies and become economically strong.

Graduates in economics field can look into a wide range of job opportunities in public sector offices, government enterprises and private companies to establish their career in this field. According to a survey conducted in 2006, 85% of fresh economic graduates were employed in various types of firms whose areas of interest were environment, inflation, foreign exchange, money matters, share markets and other specific subjects.

Field of economics, an unique and varying subject has evolved as a new career prospects to young economic graduates to pursue a career in this field. Further, these economists can study higher for attaining Masters degree in any of the specialised areas and grow in this field. Economic graduates can take up teaching as their profession in schools and colleges offering arts and commerce courses. Post graduates in economics can work for lawyers in courts or teach the subject of economics in Law College which is one of the main subjects in law. Economists assisting lawyers must be able to lay down written contracts, tax analysis, sort out issues relating to vendors, landlords and property owners.

Pursuing a doctrate degree in economics after post graduation will facilitate these lecturers and teachers to get promoted to professor jobs in institutes and colleges in many countries. This will also be the well paid job in economic field as Ph.,D is the honorable degree obtained by any person in this area.
There are wide opportunities to economic professionals as this is a growing field and requires lots of problem solvers and creative thinkers who are also defined as economists. Newspapers and publishing companies, law enterprises and non-profit organisations also recruit economists. They have attractive perks and salary packages to these economists offered in government and private organizations.

According to a recent survey in USA, economists were getting an attractive salary package of around $45K-50K$ and this tends to be bigger with experience and enhanced skill sets.

Economists in government organisations and private firms allocate resources in order to complete the work in time as required by the clients taking into consideration about time constraints, machineries and human labour available in the company. Therefore this job needs a lot of interaction with other departments like human resource, finance and machinery division. The potential of economics and its wide range of flexibility has attracted many students to take up this career.

The number of economists is on a slow increase as against software and hardware technologies, however it has very good prospects. Economic career jobs are predicted to be high paid jobs in many countries because of its usage in various contexts of social welfare.
