About 8ak:
8ak (www.8ak.in) is the fastest growing defence news and analysis websites in India. 32% growth in visitors in September (more stats at interview). Using a mix of content aggregation, mixed media, focused journalism to fill in the gaps and high profile interviews, we provide the best content on Indian defence for a global audience (visitors from 119 countries last month). We expect to be the leading source of defence news content in 2010.

The promoter is Manu Sood who has worked in Singapore and Australia for 14 years prior to starting this venture.

Job Description:
This is a start-up, not a bureaucratic big organization where you are one of many people. Your innovation and creativity will drive the future of this business and you will have a lot of responsibility and personal growth. As a start-up, the revenues are low but as you prove yourself the rewards are high, including a share of the business. As a start-up, there is no job description, you do what it requires to make the company and yourself successful, but for a start here is a brief:
1. The focus is on short stories for the websites on Indian defence news and analysis with lots of external links including videos, presentations etc.
2. Interview leading defence people in private and public sector, Indian and overseas
3. Organize the weekly print publication and circulation
4. Build global partnerships for editorial and reports
5. Write specific reports (to be sold) about the defence industry

Desired:
• Fluent English and High computer literacy required.
• Prefer a journalism degree but this is not essential
• Very basic and minimal html coding (can be taught)
• Basic graphic design skills will definitely be an advantage
• Friendly personality with can-do attitude
