Job Description: The Candidate will be responsible for the niche API molecule synthesis & Chemical Synthesis process & research work.
Desired Profile: The Candidate must be Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with upto 2 years of research work experience. He will be engaged in niche API molecule, synthesis, in very well equipped chemical synthesis laboratory. Knowledge / experience in HPLC & GC will be an added advantage. Fresher will be considered for the position of Reasearch Associate.

Application For Research Scientist
Sir,
I am Biswa Bhusan Nayak, have submitted my Ph.D. thesis in organic chemistry to Sambalpur University, Orissa in July. I am presently working as senior Scientific Assistant “B” in Defence R&D Organization since May 2002. I have been a Senior Research Fellow (CSIR) for one year which I relinquished to join DRDO.In the mean time I completed my research work which I had started during my M.Phil and Felloship period.
Ph.D. thesis: “Studies on Cetyltrimethylammonium ceric nitrate: A Phase Transferring Oxidant” pertains to synthesis and characterisation of the molecule, its synthetic application in oxidising primary and secondary alcohols, its physico chemical properties, kinetics of oxidation by UV-Visible spectroscopy, studies of monolayer on water surface.
M.Phil Thesis: “Synthesis and Behavioral study of some novel gemini surfactants”.
Work experience in DRDO: Since 2002 I have been entrusted with the duties of analysis of a whole range of raw materials used in the production of polyurethane networks which is an essential component in the bulk production of solid rocket propellant. The raw materials those are responsible for polymerisation reaction to form polyurethane include Hydroxy terminated polybutadiene ( binder), Dioctyl adipate (plasticiser), Trimethylol propane ( crosslinker), butane diol ( chain extender), toluene diisocyanate ( curator). Apart from these the other ingredients used for solid propellants include inorganic oxidiser ( ammonium perchlorate), Metallic fuel (aluminium), anti oxidant (Phenyl beta naphthyl amine), activated copper chromite etc. Besides these there are lot of raw materials like inhibition material, insulation material, rubber material etc.
I have been also entrusted with formulation studies at a experimental level to achieve optimum end product properties through mixing and casting process operations and also for the bulk production of propellant.
I have undertaken rheological studies like viscosity ( Brookfield viscometers) and mechanical properties (Instron) testing methods in this period.
I have handled a number of analytical instruments and well conversant with different types of chemical analysis.
This is brief rough sketch of my resume which I submit you for consideration.If I am given a chance I can prove my worth.
