COURSE COMMENCING 02 AUGUST 2010

Education: Three Years Diploma with minimum 50% marks in Mechanical/ Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Aeronautical/Ship Building/ Instrumentation/Metallurgical Engineering from a Govt. recognised polytechnic/ Institute.

Age Limit : Candidates should have been born between: 01 Aug 1988 and 31 Jul 1992 (Both dates inclusive).

Marital Status:
Unmarried male Indian citizens.

Pay Scale :
The Basic Pay Band is Rs.5200-20200. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus ‘X’ Group Pay @Rs. 1400/- plus DA.

Note :
During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc. free of cost.
Sailors are entitled to medical treatment and Leave Travel Concession for self and dependents, Group Housing Benefits and other privileges like Insurance cover. Sailors also have the privilege to avail Annual and Casual Leave as per current regulations. Children education and house rent allowances are also admissible..

Written Test:

  1. The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and of objective type.
  2. The part I question paper will have questions of English & General Knowledge, Science and Mathematics. The standard of question paper will be that of 10+2. The part II question paper will have additional sections of Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical. The candidate will be required to attempt only one of the sections, which will beas per the specialisation in which he has completed the three years Diploma. However, final allocation of branch will be done at Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) which will be indicated in call up letters dispatched to thecandidates. Duration of question paper (both parts) will be of 90 minutes.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

  1. Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test is mandatory for selection.
  2. PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 25 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

Process of Selection :
The applications are to be downloaded from internet site www.nausena- bharti. nic. in. The selection procedure is as follows:

Application will be received only through ORDINARY POST. Application received through speed post/ registered post or couriers will be rejected.
Short-listing criteria will be on higher education and percentage of marks.
Call up letters for eligible short listed candidates will be posted, indicating date, time and place for recruitment tests, which are scheduled during March to May 2010. The shortlisted candidates can also downloaded their Call Letter from internet site www.nausena-bharti.nic.in (Breaking news section) from 26 Feb 2010.
All original certificates and mark sheets are to be produced at the time of written examination.
Results of the Written Test will be announced on the same day and those who qualify Written test will undergo PFT and Recruitment Medical
Examination(Preliminary), which may take 1-2 days.
Candidates declared Temporary Medically Unfit in the recruitment medical could avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days. No further review/appeal is permissible if declared unfit in the specialist review
Candidates declared Permanent Medically unfit in the recruitment medical can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40/- by Military Receivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury within 21 days. Medical fitness certificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will not be considered. No further review/appeal is permissible..
The candidates who qualify in all respects will be short listed for interview. The candidate will be selected on all India merit basis. The centre wise select list ofcandidates will be displayed at the respective Recruitment Centres on 29 Jun 2010. All candidates whose names appear in the Select list and have been declared medically fit in the Recruitment Medical would be required to report to INS Chilka for interview. The Merit list (depending upon the vacancies) will be prepared from thecandidates qualifying the interview. However, enrolment will be subject to Fitness in Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka.
The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission for the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch.
Call letter for Interview/Final Medical examination will be forwarded only to medically qualified candidates in the select list. Unsuccessful candidates will not be intimated separately.
All select listed candidates will also be forwarded Police Verification form alongwith the Call letter for interview/final medical examination. The candidates will be required to submit the same to INS Chilka after getting their antecedents verified on this form from the concerned district police authorities. Candi- dates without the verified police verification reports will not be eligible for enrolment. The format for the police verification form can also be downloaded from the internet site www.nausena-bharti.nic.in immidiately after the declaration of select list, to ensure timely verification.
No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment / enrolment after a period of six months.

Submission of Application Form : The application is to be submitted on A4 size paper with one photocopy exactly as per the sample application which also available on internet site www.nausena-bharti.nic.in. Candidates forwarding application on any other format and candidates who send more than one application for the same entry will be rejected. Candidates applying are to clearly indicate in their application the choice of specialisation (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical).

The type of entry, choice of examination Centre is to be clearly written on top of the envelope containing the application.Envelop should be white colour.

Examination Centres: Aizwal, Ambala, Kolkata, Chennai, Chilka, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Gangtok, Ranchi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Jalandhar, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kochi, Lonavla, Mumbai, New Delhi, Port Blair, Shillong, Shimla, Vasco-da- Gama, Visakhapatnam, Almora, Aarkonam, Tirunelveli, Karwar.

NOTE:
Candidates are to choose only one centre for recruitment in accordance with the postal address given in the application, e.g. a candidate whose postal address is in Maharashtra can only choose Mumbai OR Lonavla. Similarly a candidate whose postal address is in Haryana, will have to choose Ambala. However, for administrative reasons Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) may allot any suitable centre. IHQ MoD (Navy) will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss of any documents during transit.
