Job Description : This position is for Mobile Microprocessor Architecture group in Bangalore India that is part of the larger Haifa, Israel team. In this position, you will be architecting advanced mobile and server platforms for 2014-2015 and beyond. The team here has worked on multi-core processors to be launched in 2010-2011 timeframe since the last 4 years. We are now starting early research and pathfinding for the 2014-2015 generation of CPU products that will span mobile, workstation and server segments of Intel’s roadmap. Our team engages in early architecture analysis, microarchitecture research/development, performance/power modeling and analysis, including detailed power/performance validation versus RTL thus contributing heavily in every stage of the CPU development effort. The specific areas that we are focusing on include multi-level large-cache architectures, advanced on-package/on-die interconnects for large number of heterogeneous cores and various memory architectures. Central to the ’2014-2015′ effort are advanced workload analysis and development of efficient architectures to deliver high performance graphics and visual computing for heavily threaded applications in close conjunction with advancing traditional IA(x86) based single-threaded and multi-core performance. The work will be extremely interesting and absolutely cutting-edge, and it is no surprise that we are very selective in hiring for these positions.

Desired : should possess at least a Master’s degree or a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering with five to fifteen years of relevant experience in microprocessor microarchitecture, graphics and/or platform architecture. Additional qualifications include:
Excellent analytical, communication and influencing skills
Breadth in traditional areas like compilers and operating systems or in emerging technologies such as GPGPU, high-level-synthesis (ESL) and FPGA-based acceleration would be an added advantage
Extremely strong hands-on software skills in C++ and Perl, and in hardware/system modeling languages like Verilog* and/or SystemC would be an added advantage
A strong background in power/performance modeling/analysis and VLSI design would be an added advantage
