Job details : Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. (RVUN), a Government of Rajasthan
Undertaking, is mainly engaged in the field of Generation of Electricity in the State of
Rajasthan. It is presently operating (either directly or through its wholly owned
subsidiary companies) the following power stations with installed/ planned capacity of
4368 MW :-
(i) Kota Super Thermal Power Station (ii) Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Station
(iii) Giral Lignite Thermal Power Station (iv) Ramgarh Gas Thermal Power Station
(v) Dholpur Combined Cycle Power Plant (vi) Chhabra Thermal Power Project
(vii) Hydro based 5 Power Stations
Construction activities are going-on in full swing for erection of two Units each of 250
MW at the new Super Thermal Power Station at Chhabra. Apart from this, to march
with the demand of time, RVUN has started activities for setting up two Super Critical
Thermal Power Stations each of 2X660 MW capacity, a greenfield Super Thermal
Power Station with 2X600 MW capacity and gas based extension Units of 160 MW
capacity, aggregating the capacity of the Company nearly 9000 MW. Not limiting its
growth to this, RVUN has got coal mine blocks allocated in Chattisgarh for which a
Joint Venture Company has also been setup for producing coal for captive use.
For achieving the goal of becoming a power surplus State despite all natural
limitations & odds and to complete projects within the time frame, RVUN is looking
for promising & energetic Graduate Engineers with excellent academic record who are
willing to join RVUN and its subsidiary companies as Junior Engineer-I for building
their own bright career. RVUN offers very good remuneration revised on the lines of
Central 6th Pay Commission, apart from attractive Incentives and facilities, in
comparison to similar Power Utilities in India.

Number of anticipated vacancies as indicated above may increase/ decrease at the discretion of RVUN, depending upon requirement and availability or non-availability of vacancies due to one or other reason(s). No notification will be issued for any such change. Vacancies are reserved for candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes/ Backward Classes (including the persons belonging to Special Backward Classes) category candidates of Non-creamy layer, Female, Widow and Physically Handicapped categories as per the
relevant rules. Posts are separately reserved for SC/ST category candidates who are bonafide resident of Banswara District (Tribal Sub Plan Area) of Rajasthan.
Qualification (as on 17.3.2010) :-
Candidates must hold a Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a University established by Law in India or a Degree of a foreign University or institution, declared by the competent authority equivalent to a Degree in Engineering of a University established by Law in India, on the 17th March, 2010. The Degree in Engineering must be with minimum 60% marks in
aggregate or AMIE with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
Provided that in case of Degree in Engineering, OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category candidates of Non-creamy layer will be allowed relaxation of 5% marks, and SC/ ST category and Physically Handicapped candidates will be allowed relaxation of 10% marks.
In case of AMIE qualification, candidates of SC, ST, OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category of Non-creamy layer and Physically Handicapped will be allowed relaxation of 5% in marks.
Candidates must possess knowledge of ‘Hindi’ written in ‘Devnagri script’.
Age (as on 17.3.2010) :-
The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must have not attained the age of 35 years as on 17th March, 2010.
Provided that the maximum age for :
a. male candidates of SC, ST, OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category of Non-creamy layer and female candidates of Unreserved category may be relaxed by 5 years.
b. female candidates of SC, ST and OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category of Non-creamy layer may be relaxed by 10 years.
c. Physically Handicapped candidates of Unreserved category, OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category of Noncreamy layer and SC/ ST category may be relaxed upto 10 years, 13 years and 15 years respectively.
NOTE:- The provision of age relaxation is non-cumulative i.e. relaxation may be claimed under any one provision, but relaxation admissible under any two clauses cannot be clubbed.
Reserved category candidates should belong to one of the categories notified for the Rajasthan State as SC or ST or OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) of Non-creamy layer. Caste certificates issued in the prescribed format by the appropriate Competent Authority of Rajasthan State only will be considered as valid for availing the benefit of reservation, including relaxation in Application fee. Married Female candidates of SC and
ST Categories should produce caste certificate issued with the name & residence of their father/ mother and not with the name & residence of their husband.
OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category candidates of Non-creamy layer should produce certificates issued in the prescribed format by the appropriate Competent Authority of Rajasthan State only during the last six (6) months clearly indicating that they do not belong to the “Creamy Layer”. The OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC)
category Certificate of Non-creamy layer of a married female candidate must be based on the name, residence and income/wealth of her parents and not on the basis of the name, residence & income/wealth of her husband.
Candidates not fulfilling the above criteria should apply as “Unreserved” category candidates and should also submit Application fee accordingly.
Candidates selected will be initially engaged as “Probationer-Trainee” for a period of two (2) years and during the period of probation-training, they will be paid fixed remuneration at the rate of Rs.10,000/- per month. After successful completion of probation-training they will be fixed in the regular pay scale of Junior Engineer-I in Running Pay Band of Rs. 9,300-34,800
with Grade Pay of Rs. 3,200/- i.e. at initial Basic pay of Rs. 12,500/- & other allowances, including Generation based incentive, as per rules.
Facility of residential accommodation in the residential colonies of Company (subject to availability) and conveyance facility between the colony and ower Station may also be provided as per rules.
Application Fee :
Unreserved category and OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category candidates should send ‘Demand Draft of Rs 100/-‘ as nonrefundable application fee and the SC/ ST and Physically Handicapped category candidates should send ‘Demand Draft of Rs. 50/-‘, favoring
Jaipur”, payable at ‘Jaipur’.
The Demand Draft must be purchased on or after the date of opening of the Online
Registration i.e. from 03/03/2010 to the date of close of the Online Registration i.e. upto 17/03/2010.
(i) As SC, ST & OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) Category candidates
of other than Rajasthan State and all the OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) Category candidates of “Creamy Layer” are treated as “Unreserved Category Candidates”, they should submit Rs. 100/- as Application fee.
(ii) No other financial instrument like Cheque/ Money Order/ Postal Order/ Postal Stamp
etc. is acceptable. Such applications will be rejected.
(iii) Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and application fee once paid will not be refunded in any circumstances, nor it can be held in reserve for any other recruitment or selection process.
(iv) Printout of the system generated application, if not accompanied by the requisite fee will not be entertained.
Procedure of ONLINE application :
All eligible candidates are required to apply “ONLINE” only on RVUN’s website – www.rvunl.com on or before 17th March, 2010 (5.00 PM). The online Registration of applications will start on 3rd March, 2010 (10.00 AM) and will remain operative till 17th March, 2010 (5.00 PM).
The system generated printout of the application form, alongwith Demand Draft and other documents as per the details given in this advertisement, should also be sent by Ordinary Post so as to reach on or before 26th March, 2010 (5.00 PM) at the address given in this advertisement.
All candidates having registration in Manpower Planning Department, Rajasthan or Employment Exchanges are also required to apply through this procedure only.
Before proceeding for Online Application (i.e. registering application) on the website, candidates should possess the following :-
(i) A valid “E-mail ID” for filling up the application form. In case, a candidate is already not having a valid E-mail ID, he/she can create a new E-mail ID, which should be valid for the entire duration of this recruitment process.
(ii) A recent passport size colour photograph for affixing on the system generated printout of the application form.
(iii) Demand Draft of Rs 100/- as non-refundable application fee for Unreserved and OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category candidates or Rs. 50/- for SC/ ST and Physically Handicapped category candidates, favoring “Sr.AO(EA/Cash), RVUN, Jaipur”, payable at ‘Jaipur’.
Name of the candidate and the system generated “Registration Number” should be clearly indicated at the back of the Demand Draft. The Demand Draft must be purchased on or after opening of the Online Registration i.e. from 03/03/2010 to the close of the Online Registration i.e. upto 17/03/2010.
After filling the application form online, candidate is required to ‘SUBMIT’ the application form. If the application is accepted, the system will generate a unique “Registration Number” on the application form submitted by the candidate. The candidate will have to take a printout of the system generated online application form. This system generated printout of the application
form should be duly signed by the candidate after affixing his/ her own colour photograph. One copy of the same must be retained by him/ her and the original printout should be sent at the specified address, alongwith following documents:-
(i) The application fee in the form of Demand Draft for Rs. 100/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/ physically Handicapped only) favoring
“Sr.AO(EA/Cash), RVUN, Jaipur”,
payable at ‘Jaipur’.
(ii) Copy of Certificate/ Mark-sheet of Secondary School Exams in which Date of Birth of the candidate is indicated.
(iii) Copy of Degree & Certificates of all the engineering and other educational qualifications, alongwith Mark-sheets of all the years/ semesters.
If Grades are given instead of Marks, the “Grading-formula” should also be clearly indicated.
(iv) Copy of certificate of SC or ST or OBC/BC (including the persons belonging to SBC) category candidates of Non-creamy layer, as the case may be, issued by the concerned Competent Authority of Rajasthan State Only (if applicable).
(v) In case of Physically Handicapped candidates, a copy of Medical certificate issued by the concerned Competent Authority.
(vi) Candidate’s own recent Passport size colour Photograph pasted at the given place and signed across on it as well as at other space provided in the application form.
(vii) Copy of Marriage Registration Certificate issued by the concerned Competent Authority or Affidavit (if married).
(viii) In case of a widow, copy of the death certificate of her husband.
(ix) If a candidate is having any child, then an affidavit clearly indicating name and date of birth of all children, including adopted and step children.
(x) Certificate issued by the concerned Competent Authority, if the SC/ST category candidate is a bonafide resident of Banswara (Rajasthan) TSP Area.
(i) Copies of all the certificates/ mark-sheets should be self-attested by the candidate.
(ii) The printout of the system generated application form, alongwith documents mentioned above, should be sent by “Ordinary Post” only in a closed envelope.
He/ She should write “Application for the post of Junior Engineer-I in RVUN- 2010” and the “System Generated Registration Number” on the top of the envelope and should send the envelope, at the following address:-
