Job Location : Pune

Job Description :
To organize and conduct in vitro screening to identify hits/leads with therapeutic potential in chosen therapeutic areas/targets, and also to perform mechanistic studies for the selected compounds
Set up and perform enzyme-based and cell-based assays for primary screening of test compounds
Set up and perform secondary screening assays to profile the active molecules
Conduct mechanistic studies to study the mode of interaction of test compound with drug targets.
Coordinate with Assay Development Group to monitor the activity during expression and purification of recombinant proteins
Analysis and interpretation of screening data
Make improvement in assays
Prepare study reports
Data presentation in department meetings exhibiting good presentation and communication skills
Procure materials required for conducting the assay

Desired :
Good understanding of biochemistry and cell biology
Hands-on experience in enzyme and cell-based assays
Computer skills, particularly in the use of softwares designed for data analysis
M.Sc. Biochemistry or Biotechnology from a reputed University
Specific technical qualification/certification: Hands-on experience in performing enzymatic assays and cell-based assays
Practical knowledge of tissue culture and ability to set up and run cell-based assays
Exhibiting an analytical bend of mind
Make improvement in assays to increase the throughput.
Behavioral/General Competencies
Good communication and presentation skills
Ability to work in a team
Organizing bench work and complete the assigned task in time
