Project title : Study of BUTANOL FUMIGATION in Diesel Engine

Project Description:
· The main objective of this project is to use the fumigation technique which requires less modification in the existing engine design and offers a potential for a retrofit for power units in case of fuel emergency.
· In this project an attempt has been made to employ the fumigation technique and the secondary fuel is supplied through the inlet manifold of the engine.
· This project resulted in the Quality improvement in emission with reduced NOX and smoke density. Additionally brake thermal efficiency of the engine also got reduced moderately.
· The above results were achieved b\y running the engine with butanol as a fumigant.

· Had completed in-plant training on Study of Boilers in ‘Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)’ in Trichy, duration 15days.
